Letter writing support for all or some

In the age of texting, e-mail, podcasting, and instant messages, it may be more challenging than ever before to get kids excited about writing a proper letter. Enter the letter generator at Read Write Think (the fantastic resource-rich site created by NCTE & IRA and sponsored by Verizon). This tool guides students through the process of letter writing including choosing a salutation, creating a heading, and so on. Students can even pick their own “paper” and can choose to be guided through either a business or friendly letter. If you are teaching letter writing this week, look no further for differentiating ideas. All of your learners may not need the scaffolding this site provides but if you teach in a typical classroom, chances are one, some, or many will!
