FUN FRIDAY: Cozy up in your igloo

Brrrrrrr! Is it getting chilly where you live? If so, we have a way for your class to celebrate the cold.

In today’s post, we learn how Mrs. Grant taught her students about the value of recycling and reusing by constructing this giant igloo. She collected milk jugs from students in order to create the space for students to read, do partner activities, and relax. The igloo is a fun way to demonstrate repurposing and this exercise can start a discussion about other ways to reuse objects.

Want to involve students in the process? Assign your different students jobs fit for their needs or interests. One might be a designer and another may be an architect. Some may write about the project for the class blog.
