Halloween hunts for the whole family

We had to share something spooky today but keep it related to differentiated instruction. Thanks to Scholastic for posting something that fits the bill perfectly! Check out the  Halloween Web Hunt on their site. What a fun way to learn science facts and have a bit of creepy fun at the same time. Classroom teacher, Mr. Tobias, also has one with fun graphics that answers different questions including some about the history of Halloween.

Many teachers may not be able to use holiday-themed web hunts in their classrooms but keep in mind that hunts like these are great tools for differentiation in the classroom. Consider that all learners do not need to be assigned the same hunt so some may be looking up facts on a site with basic information and another student may be assigned a more complex reading on a site with more sophisticated content.

Happy hunting!
