One for the kiddie lit lovers

If you are a fan of Jan Brett’s children’s books, you will love her website! You’ll find many acitivities to use in your classroom such as flash cards, alphabet tracers, and postcards (fun for sanctioned note passing). You can even have students color different characters from Brett’s books, cut them out, and create a class mural or collage. One of my favorite activities on her site are the character masks you can print out from and give to students to act out favorite stories like “The Hat” and the “The Mitten.” Drama is such a great way to differentiate instruction as you can literally create a different role appropriate for each learner’s needs and abilities.
