Student-created prompts

Today’s idea is an oldie but a goodie. Larry Ferlazzo’s site is one of the best education blogs out there and he writes about dozens of teaching-and-learning-related topics. A few years ago, he posted this description about using student-created writing prompts as a differentiation strategy. I love it because it not only offers ideas about promoting higher order thinking in the ELA classroom, but invites students to use questions as tools to solve problems and inspire creativity.
