Thanksgiving mad libs

Yesterday, we recommended a geography game at National Geographic Kids. Today, we are recommending another cool tool on the same site. This fun Thanksgiving fill-in allows students to practice parts of speech while playing a game they likely already know and enjoy. Your students will have fun coming up with silly words and phrases for categories like “something sticky,” “part of the building,” and “animal noise.” Since it is on the computer, kids can do this activity as many times as they like, stretching their brains and their vocabularies.

Have a child working on using a new communication device? This can be a fun way to practice spelling or accessing new words using pictures, word cards, on the iPad, or on any other communication system.
