TODD’S TECH TUESDAY: When art meets tech

Today’s idea offers students creative freedom while also asking them to use what they have learned about art styles and history.

Ian at Art of Apex High School gave his students an assignment in which they chose an artist and then created a Google logo based on the work of that individual. Students were allowed to find an artist that interested them, as well as a medium of their choosing (paints, pencil, oil pastels).  Students at Apex High School created logos based on Monet, Warhol, and Duchamp to name a few.

To add interest to this activity, ask students to keep their artists a secret so that classmates can guess the inspirations selected by their peers.
