Making foods class accessible

One of my new favorite websites is Beyond the Crayon. There are just too few blogs and websites dedicated to inclusive education and this one does not disappoint.

Beyond the Crayon is written by the educational assistant of a young man with cerebral palsy. I love it because it features both resources and personal stories. I am especially interested in the entries that focus on specific adaptations used across the school day. Today’s post highlights some adaptations used in a foods class. Not only have the educators adapted by assigning Nathan specific roles but they integrated technology (switches), have created physical adaptations to the environment, and made simple modifications to common materials.
